| The type of acne that arises |
- Blackheads or open comedones, formed by oil and dead skin cells trapped in the pores. Because it grows on the surface of the skin, the blackhead is exposed to air so the color is blackened and visible on the skin. Usually blackheads appear in the area of the nose, chin, and cheeks. - Whitehead or white comedo, a white lump but not swollen and reddish like acne in general. This condition occurs because the pores are clogged by dead skin cells, keratin, excess oil, and bacteria. However, unlike open comedones, white comedo arise beneath the skin surface. This is what causes it to be called closed comedo and its color does not turn black like an open comedo. - Papules, a small red lump filled with fluid and oil, and painful to the touch. - Pustules are a continuation of the papules. Pustules occur when the papules that appear on the skin are not treated immediately and already infected with dirt and dust, so the condition is getting worse. The appearance of this type of acne is a red bump with a white top on it. - Nodules are acne that is not only visible on the surface because it is large, but also presents a large lump under the skin surface, and it feels pain to the touch.
